FROM THE PUBLISHER Since the cultural revolution of two-income households took hold in America, Anne Merchant Geissler has contributed more to the in-home childcare & nanny education industry than any other single individual. As a licensed nurse trained at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. she became recognized as the foremost authority in the field of in-home childcare education after writing the first homemaker-home health, child care curriculum approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Division of Health Care Quality in 1982. In 2003 she developed the first tuition-free, college credit "college access" program in the United States targeting child caregivers, including daycare teachers, nannies, parents & others. She is a child care advocate that has served on many boards, including the International Nanny Association as an executive board member and treasurer. Numerous articles have been written about her work in major newspapers and national magazines. Her childcare training programs have been featured on nationally syndicated television. She continues to write advice columns for child care web sites & publications. She has been a guest speaker at colleges and on television and radio talk shows internationally and is married with four children. As well as being one of the most effective advocates for the "college access" movement, she is the foremost authority in the area of in-home child care and nanny education.
