Djio, baptized as Dionizio Bonfim Bach, debuted as amateur DJ in 1991, while turning 17, in Florianópolis, Brazil. A little later he started professionally playing in parties and other events around the city. Since then, there are 15 years of history and sound.
Music changed, and Djio got along. Meanwhile he played several genres: Techno, Trance, Progressive House... Time passed and, as usual, good things last. The good and old House wins new clothing (Electro, Filtered, Disco, Funky, ...) and is still his main work genre. Always searching for a fusion between the classics and news tendencies, researches ethnic rhythms, preferring brazilian, afro and latin sounds. His sets prime for the good musical taste with messages of a fun and optimistic life.
Besides DJing, he has more and more incursions in the musical production field. Already has participated in two CDs, from the Curitiba's bands Golgotha and Sentido, produced the soundtrack for the short-length movie 'Merde' of Lucila Bach, also keeps a partnership with Isaac Varzin in the project called Twist-Cola, among others.
In 2002, moved definitively to Curitiba, where also works as a multimedia developer and designer; activities that adds lots to his musical work.

We live in a tropical island, called Sao Vicente, wich is the first city from Brazil (1532). Of course we like bananas, but we like many other stuff, too, like music and art. Mauricio is a singer, composer, poet, journalist, writer and musician with a very diverse background. He plays many instruments, like andean ones (bombo leguero, charango, zampoña, kena), developed a new style of lyrical vocals and did hundreds of shows at 90's, since great brazilian theaters till little pubs. He is the almost-all-in-ears from HI-BRAZIL. Andre is a visual artist, writer and musician, with his focus on ancient tradition scenarios and subconscious creation. He is the almost-all-in-eyes from HI- BRAZIL. Both like good cooking, poetry and "heart-beat based" music. And both are open to exchange musical realistic experimentations with other people around the world In these times of uncertainty, we decide to create a new technotropical universe, with short but powerful lyrics, and clanging, new, exotic instrumentals. We are releasing a new album, next december, called Let's do the Samba!, a critical point of view of the political, cultural and economical impositions made by the "greatest" countries against the "penurious" countries of what they call third world. We did it without any trace of money in it, besides computers and equipments. Exactly "brazilian style" of life: underestimated, poor and, besides all this, doing the samba!

My approach to art invites a reflection on the forms of knowledge by proposing subjects of paradoxical, incomprehensible, or even catastrophic issues, causing a perpetual oscillation between the visible and the imaginary. Disturbing and at the same time, becoming fond of the reactions of others, normally my proposals are on the threshold of the impossible but never beyond limit or out of reality.
In this process of continuous oscillation introduced by my artistic work, the viewer has the opportunity to begin a process of independent learning because one becomes temporarily estranged from social and cultural influences.
Recently I'm working on natural catastrophes, such as earthquakes, suicidal processes and attempts, and cosmic realities as aspects developing or destroying the human free-will and the ability of self-control. My creative process does not like a particular medium, but is identified in the creation of artworks that are structured through specific projects and consider any type of approach, such as installation, photography, sculpture, video, and some relational operations and performance.

Track from debut digital album from Hi-Brazil, Let's do the Samba!, to be released next december."The frighten overlaying vocals were recorded in one single take. The lyrics start to pull out of my throat like little spiders or something, while the pulsing beats of the drums keep boombing inside my head", says Maurcio, from Hi-Brazil. "I was thinking that day about this tendency of most of humans to minimize important questions like global warm, extreme poverty or large consume of dangerous medicine and modified food...and, by other side, give larger importance to the celebrity news or police and terrorism stuff. That's why this minimal-samba-trance-calypso came out, to talk about the inner power we have to cure ourselves and overcome all this fear, sickness and madness caused by modern civilization".
